Homeschool / Microschool Class
Enroll your child in a microschool class directed by a reading specialist / credentialed teacher, in a cozy home setting located in Oceanside (Jeffries Ranch area). Our director uses the Orton-Gillingham approach to teach the students reading skills such as phonics, phonological & phonemic awareness, spelling, as well as develop reading fluency, and proper handwriting/letter formation. Multi-sensory structured literacy is used for all students and follows a research-based approach.
Students attending Reading Reach classes can be homeschooled via their own PSA, through a PSP, or charter homeschool program (we currently do not accept charter funds). If you are new to homeschooling and need help figuring out which legal homeschooling option is best for your family, we are here to help!
We will engage in language arts, reading, writing, and spelling instruction every day. We will also participate in multisensory math daily, and science/art on a rotating basis.
Our classroom has 10 students and runs from 8:30am-11:30am Tuesday through Thursday, with enrollment options for 2-3 days per week.
Flexible Schedule - Choose 2-3 days per week, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (8:30am-11:30am).
2 days per week - $299/month
3 days per week - $350/month
With a small class size, we will meet each student at their level and challenge them to make progress while finding joy in learning.
Students will make friends and gain social skills while having fun and engaging their minds.
Learning how to be kind and play fair with one another is a skill we will practice.
Reading Reach is a microschool operated out of our founder's home classroom in the Jeffries Ranch area of Oceanside (92057). We will spend most of our time in our home classroom or backyard outdoor area. We'll occasionally venture to the park down the street. Our director has pet dogs onsite (which are family-friendly), however students will not be interacting with the pets.
We will cover reading foundational skills and spelling through multi-sensory literacy methods using the Orton-Gillingham approach.
We will also participate in multisensory math daily, and science/STEAM/social studies on a rotating basis. Being kind and playing fair are part of our studies as well.
This program is best for children in grades Kinder-3rd, however students in grades 4-5 could possibly be approved (siblings or a child with reading difficulties).
We do not require masks or vaccines. Please keep your child home if they are sick.
