Julie Herd, M.Ed., RLLS

Founder, CEO, Reading Intervention Specialist

   Julie Herd is a credentialed Reading and Literacy Specialist  and homeschooling mom. She has a master's degree in Literacy and Reading Education.  Julie has been working in the field of education for over 20 years. Julie uses the Orton-Gillingham structured literacy approach, which is effective for all students but essential for those with reading difficulties, including dyslexia.  Julie is a former Kindergarten classroom teacher and has held school administrative positions such as Education Coordinator and Home-Based Services Director.  Julie has a Child Development Permit at the highest level, Program Director.
   Julie founded Reading Reach to create educational opportunities for homeschooled students and to widen the availability of reading intervention services to all striving readers, including those with dyslexia. 
   Reading Reach serves Oceanside CA and surrounding areas, and has been a licensed business since 2021. 

Matt Herd

COO, Reading Tutor

Matt is a homeschooling dad, a little league baseball coach, and an Orton-Gillingham trained tutor.  He has completed the dyslexia module at the UC/CSU California Collaborative for Neurodiversity and Learning as well as the CA Dyslexia Initiative Dyslexia & Dysgraphia training.  

Lea Martinez, M.Ed.

Lea is trained in structured literacy, has a Master's degree in Educational Leadership, and has completed the CA Dyslexia Initiative Dyslexia & Dysgraphia training.

Enroll your child in a small group class directed by a reading specialist / credentialed teacher.
